About Insurer connections
Insurer connections
Under a federal rule, many health insurers run a Patient Access API: a secure way for you to sign in on your insurer's own website and let an app read your claims. HerePup is testing these connections so you can bring in your claims without downloading files. Each insurer must first approve HerePup as an app, so request your insurer below: requests show us which insurers to connect first.
Will it work for my plan?
The rule covers Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, CHIP and ACA marketplace plans. It does not require employer plans to take part, and many employer plans are run by the employer (self-funded) even when an insurer's name is on the card. Some insurers include employer plans anyway. The table below repeats what each insurer says about who is covered.

Don't see your insurer, or not connected yet? You don't need a connection to use HerePup. Sign in to your insurer's member website, open Claims, and download a claims spreadsheet or your explanation of benefits (EOB) PDFs. Then drag them into HerePup. They're read on your device and never uploaded.
How a connection will work
- You choose your insurer in HerePup and are sent to your insurer's own sign-in page. HerePup never sees your password.
- You approve read-only access to your claims and coverage.
- HerePup reads your claims and keeps them on your device. You can disconnect at any time.
Direct insurer connections are in testing and aren't available to the public yet. We'll turn them on for each insurer once it approves HerePup. See our privacy policy for details.
